This Theme celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the album «Fear of the Dark». Legendary metal band Iron Maiden released the album in May 1992. The coin has Obsidian Black Proof quality and a fantastic design. It comes in a case, along with a Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage of 1.922 pieces worldwide.
The reverse of the coin features the album cover depicting their mascot Eddie as a kind of Nosferatu tree figure leering down from under the glistening moon. On the left, the inscription: “IRON MAIDEN” in yellow color and the inscription “FEAR OF THE DARK” – the coin Name.
The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “5 DOLLARS” – the face value, “COOK ISLANDS” – the issue country and "2022" - the year of issue.

IRON MAIDEN
Iron Maiden (English for "iron maiden") have been one of the most consistent and successful bands in heavy metal since their formation in the mid-seventies. From the unmistakable artwork with the band mascot "Eddie", who can be seen on countless cover pictures, to polyphonic guitar solos, Iron Maiden set standards and are thus important representatives of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal.
Founded on 25 December 1975 by bassist Steve Harris in London, the original line-up of Iron Maiden consisted of singer Paul Mario Day, guitarists Dave Sullivan and Terry Rance and drummer Ron Matthews. After many gigs and first demos, they quickly made a name for themselves as a local force and were finally signed by EMI in 1979.
The debut album "Iron Maiden" was released in 1980 and already featured "Eddie", a zombie-like looking human with long hair, who was the band mascot in the form of a larger-than-life doll and henceforth part of the show at most gigs. On the follow-up "Killers", the band worked for the first time with Martin Birch, who remained loyal to Iron Maiden as producer and sound engineer until 1992.
