Obverse: Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Included are the inscriptions for the year of issue, fineness and weight of the coin, country of issue and the words "Middle Earth".
Reverse: Features an image of Frodo reaching out to the One Ring, also called the Ruling Ring. In his sleeve are the words "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future." Around the edge of the coin are the inscriptions "The Fellowship of the Ring" and "20th Anniversary".
Sovereign coin backed by the New Zealand government.

The Lord of the Rings
The Fellowship of the Ring is the first movie in this epic series and was released in 2001. The film is based on J.R. Tolkien’s first installment in his book trilogy that was initially published in 1954. Peter Jackson directed and filmed The Lord of the Rings series in his native New Zealand. The series was released in 2001 and 2003 and received raving reviews.
