DC Comics Aquaman

is the son of the human lighthouse keeper Thomas Curry and the Atlantean queen Atlanna. After discovering as a child that he can communicate with creatures from the ocean, he is taught Atlantean swimming and fighting techniques by the Atlantean Nuidis Vulko.

Birth and childhood
After the Atlantean Queen Atlanna is stranded at Thomas Curry's lighthouse and the two fall in love, Arthur is born. He is named after a hurricane that is raging over the sea.
Over the next few years they live together as a happy family until Atlanna is tracked down by Atlantean soldiers. A battle ensues, which the queen is able to win. Despite the victory, she decides to return to Atlantis to protect her little family and especially Arthur.

The boy is raised by his father in the ways of men and attends school a few years later.
On a school trip to the Boston Aquarium, other people witness Arthur's ability to communicate with fish for the first time. Arthur is harassed by his classmates Mike and Matt as he introduces himself to the fish in a giant aquarium.
Suddenly, a shark begins to swim against the glass of the aquarium. The children let go of their victim and take a few steps back. The shark repeats its action until a crack appears in the glass. Then all the fish in the tank gather behind the boy and demonstrate their cohesion, while Arthur's eyes begin to glow. From that day on, Nuidis Vulko takes over Arthur's training and shows him the underwater world. In the first lessons, the boy learns how to swim and dive quickly. Arthur visibly has fun and swims with dolphins. When he asks when he will be able to see his mother, he is put off by Vulko because he is not ready yet. The training continues for a few years until Arthur is old enough to train with his mother's Atlannas five-pointed five-pointed.
