The motif depicts the Three Wise Men, with the Christ Child in the manger centered below them and two dromedaries in the background. The Star of Bethlehem with a tail hovers above the scene in open space. The composition is framed at the top by the inscription “Heilige Drei Könige” (Three Kings). The three-part division of the motif into different technical approaches is interesting: the kings and the baby Jesus are modeled in a filigree style, while the two dromedaries in the background are rendered in a flat manner, suggesting spatial distance. The star floating in the sky with its tail is rendered in a linear fashion, thus asserting its significance. The work captivates with its filigree detailing, which does not appear overloaded despite the richness of the depiction.

The German government has decided to mint a 25-euro collector coin entitled “Three Kings” as part of its “Christmas” series and to issue it in November 2025. The series, which began in 2021, is dedicated to one of the most important Christian festivals, which is deeply rooted in the culture and customs of our country.
In Christian tradition, the “Three Kings” refer to the astrologers mentioned in the Christmas story in the Gospel of Matthew, who were led to Jesus by the Star of Bethlehem.

The coin is made of fine silver (Ag 999). It is produced as a plate coin (here: concave curvature of the image side for a particularly vivid representation of the motif). The coin has a diameter of 30 mm, a weight of 22 g, and is produced in two minting qualities: proof and mirror finish. The coins in proof quality will be put into circulation at face value (25 euros).
The coins in collector's quality will be issued at a sales price above face value. The German Mint will provide information on the exact price and specific ordering details in good time before the date of issue.

The image side shows the Three Kings in the center, with the Christ Child in the manger below them and two dromedaries in the background. The Star of Bethlehem with its tail hovers above the scene in the open field. The composition is surrounded by the inscription “Heilige Drei Könige” (Three Kings) at the top. An interesting feature is the three-part division of the motif into different technical approaches: the kings and the baby Jesus are modeled in a filigree style, while the two dromedaries in the background are rendered in a flat style, suggesting spatial distance. The star floating in the sky with its tail is rendered in a linear fashion, thus asserting its significance. The work captivates with its filigree detailing, which does not appear overloaded despite the richness of the depiction.
The face value side shows an eagle, the lettering “BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND” (Federal Republic of Germany), the value number and denomination, the mint mark “D” of the Bavarian State Mint, Munich, the year 2025, and the twelve European stars.
The edge of the coin is smooth and without structure.
