Typografische Komposition: an der Längsachse befindet sich linkerhand der untereinander verlaufende rechtsbündige Schriftzug „Wir sind ein Volk“. Rechterhand steht untereinander linksbündig „35 Jahre Deutsche Einheit“. Beide Schriftblöcke werden ober- und unterhalb durch horizontale Linien eingefasst. Die Verbindung wird mittig durch das vergrößerte „D“ geschaffen und unterstreicht die Tatsache, dass es einst Deutsche in Ost und West gegeben hat. Am oberen Bildrand sind die Initialen „TS“ des Münzgestalters sowie das Prägezeichen der jeweiligen Münzstätte („A”, „D”, „F”, „G” oder „J”) zu sehen.
